Such is the quality of David Feherty's design, National (6,907 yards) is still regarded as the best course in Belek by many, and has a maturity that belies its youth. Spectacular holes are carved in to the groves of pine and eucalyptus, and there are treacherous water hazards throughout.

National has more of a members club accent than many of the resort courses, and as such is extremely popular. The most established course in Belek, National should be a certainty for a challenging and rewarding round during your next golfing holiday on Turkey's Mediterranean coast.

Tat International Golf Club

Set against the backdrop of the spectacular Taurus Mountains, Tat is wedged between the river and the seafront, and offers surroundings that are as magical as the golf course.

Each loop of nine holes is of a similar quality, but differs in character, with the best one arguably being the second, which runs alongside the Mediterranean coastline.

Tat is a favourite with visiting golfers who fancy getting away from the resort for an enjoyable round during their golf holiday in Belek.

Carya Golf Club

Spanning a unique sand ridge and carved through mature indigenous woodland that includes pine and eucalyptus, Carya, with its borders edged by heather, is a unique site. The par-72 layout is an amazing feat of modern architecture, which from the back tees measures a substantial 7,186 yards. The planting of no less than 1 million heather plants has helped to create an environment reminiscent of the great heathland courses of Berkshire like Sunningdale and Walton Heath.

The five sets of tees per hole make the course manageable no matter the ability of each visitor, and although it was only unveiled in November 2008, Carya has quickly established an enviable reputation as one of the very best courses in the Belek area, and is highly recommended for any golf holiday group visiting Turkey.
